Los Angeles Fire Benefit Concerts: A Help Guide

In the wake of the devastating Los Angeles fires, the music community mobilized financial assistance from MusiCares and other forms of monetary and emotional support. There is also a growing list of benefit concerts, both in California and the United States, whose proceeds will go to those affected by the disaster. Here is a current list.

Tunes for Tomorrow: a musical fundraiser
When and where: January 14 — Los Angeles @ The Hotel Café
Line up: Zen Thomas, Sacha Carlson, Stela Cole, Return to Dust, Gonzalo Martin, Kate Grahn, Tin Angel and Haleigh Bowers
Lucas Flood is transforming his usual Not Another Showcase into a musical event to raise funds for victims of the Los Angeles fires. Flood said the event would use the money raised to donate to “a family who lost everything and didn’t meet their fundraising goal.”

Picolandia fire aid
When and where: January 18 — Pico Rivera, CA @ Pico Rivera Sports Arena
Line up: To be announced
The Pico Rivera Sports Arena in Pico Rivera, California, became a makeshift shelter for horses and large livestock displaced by the fires. On Saturday, January 18, the venue, home to area Hispanic music fans, will host 15 Latin artists in the genres of banda, norteño and tambarazo.

9th Annual Metal Hall of Fame Gala
When and where: January 22 — Anaheim, California at the Grand Theater
Line up: Poison drummer Rikki Rockett, Kill Devil Hill, Chris Poland and Jeff Young (formerly of Megadeth), Alibis, Wicked
The Metal Hall of Fame gala is turning into a fundraising telethon to help raise money for those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. Eddie Trunk and Cathy Rankin are hosting the event, which will feature an all-star jam and surprise guests.

Los Angeles Fire Benefit Show
When and where: January 26 — Brooklyn, New York @ Cassette
Line up: Palehound, Beck Zegans de Goo, Marem Ladson
Brooklyn club Cassette will host an indie lineup featuring Palehound, Beck Zegans de Goo and Marem Ladson to raise money for victims of the Los Angeles wildfires on Sunday, January 26.

I Love LA: New York City Groups for Los Angeles Fire Relief
When and where: January 27 – 29 – New York @ Bowery Electric, Heaven Can Wait, Berlin
Line up: Gift, Ginger Winn, Patton Magee of the Nude Party, Laura Jean Anderson, Austin Royale, Discovery Zone, 95 Bulls
On the other side of the country, in Manhattan, a trio of New York clubs will participate in three days of benefit concerts, from Monday, January 27 to Wednesday, January 29. Participating artists include Gift, Ginger Winn, Patton Magee of garage rockers the Nude Party, and more.

Fire aid
When and where: January 30 — Inglewood, California @ Intuit Dome
Line up: To be announced
Scheduled for Thursday, January 30 at the 18,000-seat Intuit Dome in the Inglewood neighborhood of Los Angeles, “FireAid” is hosted by AEG, the Irving Azoff Family and Live Nation. The lineup hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s sure to include many of pop’s most powerful artists.

Dilla Day LA
When and where: February 8 — Los Angeles @ Beehive
Line up: Slum Village, Frank-N-Dank, Guilty Simpson, Phat Kat, Wild Child of Lootpack, Shortkut, Daru Jones, J. Rocc from Beat Junkies
The annual show honoring J. Dilla, hosted by his mother Ma Dukes, is now a benefit for Eaton fire victims. The lineup for the Saturday, Feb. 8 show at Beehive (961 E. 61st St.) is expected to include names like Slum Village and Frank-N-Dank.
