Launched for the first time in 2022, the World NFL World Markets Program attributes international marketing clubs to strengthen the notoriety of the brand and the Fandom beyond the United States, thanks to the commitment of fans, events, commercial opportunities and the development of the NFL flag.
The National Football League has announced today the expansion of its program on the world markets, the Los Angeles Chargers officially joining the league initiative as a holder of international marketing rights for Greece.
In total, 29 clubs will participate in the program in 21 international markets while the NFL continues to prioritize global growth.
“The homeland of my family, Greece has left an eternal imprint on my heart,” said the owner and chairman of the board of directors of Dean Spanos, who was honored by the Hellenic Post and the International Foundation of Greece last October to the circulation of Acropolis in Athens with a commemorative postal stamp currently in circulation. “So when the opportunity to develop NFL football and the Los Angeles load brand in Greece presented themselves, we just couldn’t let it pass.
“With the former Greece which houses the first Olympic Games recorded in 776 BC and the host of the first summer Olympic Games in 1896, it seems natural to bring what I consider as the best game in the world to, literally, the place of birth of sport. We could not be more excited to connect with the Greeks of all life walks, to have an impact on their communities and we love. “
By emphasizing the initiatives of the base, in particular young and clinics, the creation of NFL flag leagues, community improvement projects and Gameday activations, the charges will officially launch their efforts in Greece with an announcement of choice of day 3 of the NFL 2025 draft of Athens.
“The expansion of the Global Markets program in 2025 reflects the continuous NFL objective to develop the game and connect with fans worldwide,” said NFL executive vice-president, Club Business, Major Events & International Peter O’Reilly. “With more clubs entering the program and existing clubs adding to their global rights, and as the program develops to new markets, we see an importance and an impact on the growth of the world worldwide.”
NFL clubs can request rights in international markets by subjecting proposals to the International Committee for examination each spring. Clubs are awarded rights for at least a five -year term as part of the program, and during this period, can pursue activities on this international market which comply with what they can do on their domestic market.
