Chicago (AP) Yoán Moncada struck a simple RBI against his former team in the eighth round, and the Los Angeles Angels bleached the Chicago White Sox 1-0 on Saturday.
Jorge Soler walked with two withdrawals in the eighth and reached the third on the wilderness of Mike Clevinger. The receiver Matt Thaiss had trouble locating the ball while Soler slipped around the bases.
Moncada then drove to Soler with a group back in the middle which is discouraged Clevinger (0-1) for a simple in the inner field. Moncada played for the White Sox during the previous eight seasons before signing with the Angels in a free agency.
The right-handed of Los Angeles, José Soriano (1-0), launched seven rounds of ball with two strokes. He withdrew five and walked two.
Soriano made 20 departures and two relief appearances for Los Angeles last year, going 6-7 with an MPM of 3.42. It was closed in August because of the fatigue of the right arm.
Ben Joyce worked the eighth and Kenley Jansen obtained his first stop for the season, ending a hitter.
The Angels central field player, Jo Adell, left in the fifth after having launched a safe blow on the field. The team said he had left hip outfit.
Jonathan Cannon launched five heaps of a four -right ball for Chicago. He withdrew five and walked three.
Jansen struck Miguel Vargas and Luis Robert Jr. in the ninth before walking Andrew Benintendi. Andrew Vaughn then rebounded at the final stop for the final.
It was the 448th career judgment of Jansen.
Benintende and Brooks Baldwin had the only success for Chicago.
The teams conclude their season opening series on Sunday. Jack Kochanowicz launches for the Angels and Davis Martin begins for the White Sox.
