Lok Sabha 2024 exit poll results: Vaithilingam Congress expected to retain Puducherry parliamentary constituency

Along with exit poll data released for states for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, News18 Mega Exit Poll released projections for Union Territories, which included Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Chandigarh, Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands , Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu.

Pondicherry

According to the projection, the sitting MP V Vaithilingam of the Indian National Congress (INC) is likely to win the Puducherry parliamentary constituency, the only seat in the union territory of Puducherry. The other candidates vying for the seat are A Namassivayam of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). G Thamizhvendan among the 25 candidates who contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress Vaithilingam won against Dr Narayanasamy Kesavan of All India NR Congress by 1,97,205 votes.

The counting of votes for the 2024 Lok Sabha election results will begin on June 4 at 8 am.
