Logan Paul hit by WWE champion Cody Rhodes’ bold Mike Tyson prediction as chaos erupts on SmackDown

WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is the latest name to make a bold prediction ahead of the upcoming Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight in Texas.

YouTuber turned boxer Paul faces the most high-profile moment of his career when he steps into the ring with the heavyweight boxing legend in July.

One of the most high-profile clashes of the year sees a 58-year-old step back between the ropes in an officially sanctioned encounter with the starlet who is more than 30 years his junior.

Opinions about this titanic struggle have flowed in abundance during the long build to the AT&T Stadium show, most notably in WWE where Paul’s brother Logan is wrestling for the United States Championship on SmackDown.

The Maverick himself has his own major match coming up – he will meet Rhodes for the undisputed WWE Title at the company’s King and Queen of the Ring event next weekend which takes place in Saudi Arabia at Jeddah Great Dome.

Rhodes and Paul faced off in the ring again on SmackDown this week, just seven days after the 29-year-old upstart impressed fans with his abilities on the mic to replace relative veteran Rhodes.

This time it was Rhodes’ turn to expose some truths, with the American Nightmare telling Paul about them in a scathing outburst that included a bold reference to Tyson’s exit.

Rhodes made it clear he expected to leave King and Queen of the Ring with his championship intact, but he was adamant boxing icon Tyson would fare much better upon his exit.

After tempers got heated in the ring, Rhodes said, “Let me tell you something, you night-flying human hat-strap.

“Here’s the situation: the honeymoon with you is over, I saw you do a flip, whoopdie do it.

“After our match against King and Queen of the ring, you will find out exactly who Logan Paul is inside.”

Rhodes added: “In eight days (sic), a WWE Hall of Famer is going to knock out your brother, and in Saudi Arabia, a future WWE Hall of Famer is going to beat you. »

Rhodes’ verbal volley came either side of classic WWE action to set up the title match for the king and queen of the ring.

Their fight had been announced – although not confirmed – to be a title-for-title match where the Undisputed WWE Championship and the United States gold medal would be on the line.

This always seemed unlikely, and the expected outcome of this storyline duly emerged, with Paul slyly claiming to have discussed the legal aspect of the “contract” of the match to ensure that only Rhodes would have to put his gold on the line.

This was much to the frustration of British general manager Nick Aldis and the public, but a furious Rhodes signed the contract anyway.

Sure enough, physicality then followed as Paul tried to sneakily hit the fan favorite, only for Rhodes to dodge the attack and the influencer to tuck his tail and run after being tied to the top rope.

One of the challenger’s entourage for the evening duly paid the price, taking a brutal-looking powerbomb through a table from Rhodes for good measure.

Friday night’s SmackDown also saw advancements for Randy Orton, Nia Jax, Bianca Belair and Tama Tonga in the respective King and Queen of the Ring tournaments.
