Location of 2026 NFL Draft REVEALED as city prepares for ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’

The NFL announced the host city for the 2026 draft during league meetings Wednesday.

Pittsburgh has been announced as the location for the 2026 draft, which will incorporate elements of the iconic Point State Park as well as Acrisure Stadium, home of the Steelers.

The announcement, which was hailed as “a unique opportunity” by Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey, was made at the NFL Spring League meeting in Nashville following a review of the bid proposal from Pittsburgh.

“The NFL Draft is one of the largest and most anticipated sporting events of the year, and we are thrilled to partner with the Pittsburgh Steelers and VisitPITTSBURGH for our 2026 event,” said Commissioner the NFL, Roger Goodell.

“We have a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on this wonderful community on the world stage, which will benefit Pittsburgh’s economy and entertain football fans in all markets.” We know this Pennsylvania pride will shine brightly in 2026.”

The NFL announced the host city for the 2026 draft on Wednesday.

The draft has become the league’s largest offseason event with more than three million fans attending the event in person since 2015.

Detroit was home to the silly festivities last month, where a record 775,000 fans attended the event in the Motor City, with more than 53.6 million total viewers tuning in to watch the broadcast over three days.

“Pittsburgh is honored to be named the host city for the 2026 NFL Draft,” said Mayor Ed Gainey. “This unique opportunity will allow us to showcase our city to an international audience and give us the opportunity to say to our global fans: come home to Pittsburgh.

“We are excited for everyone to see the transformation that has taken place and see Pittsburgh as more than the city of champions, but as a place where everyone is safe and welcome.” A city where everyone has the chance to thrive, and where football erases the boundaries of our 90 neighborhoods, and where we become one city, united, to cheer on our beloved Steelers.
