Hungary’s Barnabas Varga was stretchered off during the Euro 2024 clash with Scotland following an ugly collision with Angus Gunn.

The two clashed while going for the ball, leading to a five-minute break while Varga received treatment on the field.

There was a round of applause from everyone in the Stuttgart stadium as Varga was sent off on a stretcher.

Liverpool and Hungary star Dominik Szoboszlai was in tears when his teammate was sent off.

Martin Adam then replaced Varga.

Varga scored his country’s only goal in the tournament so far, in the 3-1 defeat to Switzerland in Group A.

Both teams need to find a win to keep their Euro 2024 hopes alive.

A draw will not be enough for Hungary to stay in the competition, while Scotland will depend on other results to qualify for third place.
