⚡Liverpool vs Wolves Quick Betting Tips

Liverpool FC vs Wolverhampton Wanderers FC predictions

So that’s it.

On Sunday, Jurgen Klopp will take charge of his 489th and final match as Liverpool manager. When the German bids farewell to his people, few will have dry eyes at Anfield.

Klopp has been a magnificent manager of the club during his nine years in charge. He is the man who ended Liverpool’s 30-year drought by leading them to Premier League glory in 2020.

Klopp also won the Reds’ sixth Champions League and took them to two further finals, losing to Real Madrid each time. Domestically, he has won one FA Cup and two EFL Cups.

Some will say Klopp should have asked for more silverware. If his tenure hadn’t coincided with Pep Guardiola’s at Manchester City, he probably would have.

Yet Klopp is a living legend at Liverpool for reasons beyond his trophy haul, which is quite impressive. From the start, he forged a bond with the club’s supporters that is ever stronger today.

A charismatic personality, Klopp’s passion for the game is one of the reasons he is adored on the Anfield terraces. Others are his promotion of community and his left-wing politics, qualities which resonate with those of Liverpool’s fan base.

Klopp’s teams played the kind of fast, energetic and aggressive football that Liverpool fans love to see. The quality was not lacking either. For all his compassion, emotional intelligence and people management skills, Klopp is also a fantastic tactician.

Dream goodbyes are no longer possible after Liverpool officially dropped out of the Premier League title race last weekend. But Sunday will still be a celebration as the Reds part ways with one of their greatest managers of all time.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will try hard to celebrate, but the wave of emotion should carry Liverpool to victory.

Liverpool vs Wolves Betting Tips

Liverpool will be looking to secure a victory when they face Wolves in their final 2023/24 Premier League match.

Liverpool will win and both teams will score – 11/10 (Betfair)

Liverpool let a 3-1 lead slip away at Aston Villa on Monday night, as their hosts struck twice late on to secure a 3-3 draw.

It was hard to deny that Villa deserved something from the match on the balance of play, but Klopp was still disappointed to see his side take a two-goal advantage.

Although the outcome of Sunday’s clash with Wolves doesn’t really matter – Liverpool will finish third no matter what – Klopp’s competitiveness means he will do everything he can to secure a victory.

Liverpool’s cause is bolstered by Wolves limping across the finish line. A 3-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace last time out means Gary O’Neil’s side have won just one of their last nine matches.

Yet with Pedro Neto edging closer to a return, Wolves should at least have a full complement of attackers available for Sunday. The visitors can find the back of the net against a Liverpool side who have conceded two or more goals in each of their last four outings.

Liverpool win by two goals – 3/1 (Betfair)

Wolves opened the scoring in the reverse fixture in September, but Liverpool came from behind to record a 3-1 victory.

We could see something similar this weekend, at least in terms of margin of victory. Liverpool’s last three Premier League triumphs have ended in two clear goals, as have half of Wolves’ last eight defeats.

There’s no doubt that Liverpool’s players will want to put on a show in Klopp’s final game in the dugout, but in truth this team has been below their best for a few weeks now.

The Reds finally ran out of steam in the run after being at one point in contention to win four trophies.

Yet even though Liverpool haven’t been at their best over the past couple of months, they should be able to get past Wolves without much difficulty.

Cody Gakpo will score anytime – 2/1 (Betfair)

One of the big decisions facing Michael Edwards, Richard Hughes and Arne Slot ahead of next season concerns the fate of Darwin Nunez.

It’s difficult to see the Uruguay international being sold this summer, but Slot in particular must decide whether he wants Nunez to be his main man midway through next season.

Cody Gakpo has replaced him in the starting XI in recent weeks and he will likely retain his place in the team for the visit of Wolves on Sunday.

The Netherlands international has found the back of the net against Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in Liverpool’s last two matches. These goals will have given him a boost of confidence after a mixed first full season on Merseyside.

Wolves are currently struggling to repel opposition attacks and Gakpo can take advantage of this.
