Joel Matip and Thiago had already confirmed their departures this summer, but Adrian, who signed for the club in 2019, could stay despite previous hints of a move away.

The Spaniard has not made a Premier League appearance since the 2020/21 campaign, but featured in the Community Shield win over Manchester City at the start of the 2022/23 season.

He made just 26 appearances for the Reds in five seasons at Anfield, recording seven clean sheets.

Adrian is one of three players who have been offered a new contract along with academy goalkeepers Jacob Poytress and Reece Trueman.

Meanwhile, first-team players Adam Lewis, Melkamu Frauendorf and Mateusz Musialowski will leave the club this summer.

Academically, Nathan Giblin, Francis Gyimah, Luke Hewitson, Niall Osborne and Cody Pennington will depart.

Adrian played a back-up role for Liverpool number one Alisson, while Caoimhin Kelleher established himself as the Brazilian’s understudy.

The experienced goalkeeper is out of contract at the end of June and has already expressed his wish to return to Spain.

Adrian’s first taste of English football came in 2013 when he signed for West Ham from boyhood club Betis.
