“He knows how to deal with high-pressure environments, and I think he learned from that very deadly situation at Bayern.

“I had the impression that he had been dismissed far too easily and very unfairly, even though he knows the political game.

Hatchard also spoke about Sporting boss Amorim, praising the Lisbon-born tactician.

“I can understand why Amorim is linked to this position because he plays very aggressive football and football that relies on good work without the ball.

“They are pushing, so there are parallels, but no one will directly replace (Jurgen) Klopp.

“Both in terms of the man’s charisma, but also in terms of his style, it’s a very difficult style to copy and replicate, and I don’t think the new coach should try to do that.
