At 7 a.m. this Monday, the leading trio in Vendée remains unchanged. Yoann Richomme has reduced the gap and is now only 86 miles behind Charlie Dalin, the leader of the 10th edition of the Vendée Globe, while the two skippers have crossed the equator and are heading towards Cape Verde.
Dalin (Macif Santé Prévoyance) and Richomme (Paprec Arkéa) are also once again in a weak wind zone and their average for the last 24 hours has fallen back below 20 knots. The gap with 3rd, Sébastien Simon, has thus decreased by almost 100 miles compared to Sunday evening’s score, standing at 780 miles.
Further south, the battle is still raging from 4th to 10th place, and Justine Mettraux (8th) has done the right thing in recent hours by gaining two positions.
