Little League®International mourns the passing of two-time Little League Baseball member Sean Burroughs® World Series champion and son of former Major Leaguer Jeff Burroughs, who died suddenly at age 43 while coaching his son’s Little League game.
As a child, Sean became the first American-born player to throw back-to-back no-hitters in the Little League Baseball World Series and went on to lead his Long Beach (California) Little League team to back-to-back victories. championships in 1992 and 1993, making history as the first American league to do so. During these two historic races, Sean had the opportunity to relive those memories with his father, Jeff, as coach. During his run in 1993, Sean recorded a record 16 strikeouts in his consecutive no-hit games and continued to hit .600 with the World Series performance.
