A six-month-old baby girl has died following a collision in a multi-storey car park in a popular Welsh seaside town.
Sophia Kelemen, from Leigh in Greater Manchester, was injured in a ground-level collision at the car park in Tenby, south-west Wales, on January 2.
Sophia was taken to hospital but Dyfed-Powys Police said on Monday that she died from her injuries the following day.
Flaviu Naghi, 33, from Wigan, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving without a license and without insurance.
Dyfed-Powys Police said: “He appeared at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, January 4, where he was subsequently remanded to appear at Swansea Crown Court on February 7. He was also arrested on suspicion of drink driving and drug driving and was released on bail for these offenses.
A spokesperson added: “This is a tragic incident and a live investigation. We ask that you not speculate on the circumstances. Our thoughts remain with his family during this difficult time. They are supported by specially trained agents.
Through police, the family released photos of Sophia, including one taken at a spot overlooking one of Tenby’s sandy beaches. Another showed her in a photo with her mother, father and older brother, who were not named.
