Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi scored while Inter Miami beaten Jamaica 2-0 rider SC Thursday and moved to the quarter-finals of the Concacaf Champions Cup.
Suarez, the 38-year-old Uruguayan striker, converted with a penalty kick in the 11th minute and Messi took place early in the second half and marked in time to help the MLS Club to progress in the next round 4-0 on the aggregate.
Inter Miami will face the Los Angeles FC for a place in the semi-finals. The team tries to reach the semi-finals for the first time.
Messi’s first visit to the Caribbean to play in an official match was eagerly awaited. The great Argentinian and his Miami teammates were welcomed by the Minister of Culture of Jamaica, gender, entertainment and sport, Olivia Grange, upon his arrival at the airport.
