Lunda McMahon, newly confirmed education secretary, said on Monday that the ministry had to embark on a “capital final mission” because it undergoes a “historic overhaul”.
“This review of our programs has been expected for a long time. The Ministry of Education does not work as planned,” McMahon wrote in an email.
Business Insider consulted McMahon’s email, entitled “The final mission of our department”. McMahon was confirmed on Monday as an education secretary, and the e-mail was also published on the website of the Ministry of Education on Monday evening.
In his email, McMahon asked the staff of the Ministry of Education to show “dedication and excellence” to the agency’s “historic final mission”.
“As I have learned several times throughout my career, the disturbances lead to innovation and obtain results. We must start thinking about our final mission in the department as a forecastness – a last chance to restore the culture of freedom and excellence that made American education,” wrote McMahon.
“The real change does not occur overnight-in particular the historic overhaul of a federal agency,” she added.
In his email, McMahon called for the abolition of “bureaucratic and bureaucratic barriers” and an “effective transfer of educational surveillance to states”.
She also described three “convictions” of the department, one of which stipulates that parents should be the main decision -makers of their children’s education. In another, she wrote that education should focus on mathematics, reading, science and history instead of “divide programs and gender ideology”.
McMahon has also written that post-secondary education should lead to a “well-paid career aligned with the needs of the workforce”.

Trump announced the appointment of McMahon as an education secretary in November.
McMahon, who was CEO of WWE from 1997 to 2009, was part of the first Trump administration and directed the Small Business Administration from 2017 to 2019.
While on the campaign track, Trump has repeatedly called upon the Ministry of Education to be closed.
“Give us an education in the United States, and Linda will launch this effort,” Trump wrote in a social article of truth on November 19.
In 2017, during his first mandate, Trump proposed a reduction of $ 9 billion to the ministry’s budget.
“I said to Linda,” Linda, I hope you are doing a great job and that you have put yourself out of a job. “I want her to get away from a job,” Trump told journalists on February 4 when he asked her questions about McMahon’s appointment.
During its confirmation hearing on February 13, McMahon said that the ministry can only be abolished with the approval of the Congress.
“It is set up by the US Congress, and we are working with the Congress. It can clearly not be closed without it,” McMahon told the Senate Committee for Health, Education, Labor and Pensions during the Hearing.
McMahon, the White House and the Ministry of Education did not respond to requests for BI comments.
