Tekken 8 is already in its fifth month since launch, and now we have an additional taste of who will be coming to the battlefield.
Before the Top 8 Finals at Combo Breaker 2024 begin tonight, Bandai Namco revealed a full cutscene and gameplay trailer for Lidia Sobieska, as she will appear as Tekken 8’s second DLC character.
As we saw during Lidia’s announcement last month at Evo Japan 2024, the Polish Prime Minister looks slightly different from his introduction as Tekken 7’s final character.
She has a very ornate karate gi, now adorned with red flowers and waves that pop a little more, but it seems like most of the changes have been applied to her gameplay.
To help further differentiate her from Reina and other karate practitioners, it appears they have improved Lidia’s defensive options with more parries and guard point moves.
She also appears to have multiple stances and a charged punch at her disposal as a hopefully formidable new foe.
The trailer also features its introduction, Rage Art, special interactions with Jin and Reina, and nearly two minutes of gameplay in the upcoming Seaside Resort stage.
No release date has been provided for Lidia beyond the previous summer window where she will likely appear alongside a new stage and photo mode according to the game’s update roadmap .
She will be the second DLC fighter for Tekken 8 after Eddy Gordo with two other unannounced characters coming this fall and winter for Season 1 content.
Like Eddy, Lidia will likely be available to purchase on her own for $8 USD or included in the Year 1 Character Pass in the Deluxe Edition upgrade for $40.
If it’s not already out by then, we’ll likely see more of the Prime Minister at Evo 2024 in July, as well as whoever comes next on the list.
