Leonard Floyd Reveals He Received Death Threats After Ruptured Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles…But Will Try To Fire Him Again In Week 1 With 49ers

Leonard Floyd’s social media accounts were filled with hateful and vile messages after he delivered the sack that ruptured Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles tendon last September.

Floyd, who has since signed with the 49ers from the Bills, has now revealed the death threats he received in the days following that eventful Monday Night Football clash.

In leaving Buffalo for San Francisco, Rodgers will face a defensive line for the second straight game with Floyd looking to get him on the field.

If there’s anyone outside the Jets organization who doesn’t want déjà vu, it’s Floyd, who says he didn’t intend to hurt Rodgers during his first four offensive games in New York.

Yet hatred toward Floyd grew strong in the days following the Jets’ game with the Bills.

“I hope you die. I hope something happens to your family,” Leonard said as an example of messages he received after Rodgers was fired.

“There were quite a few. It didn’t happen until after the game,” Floyd continued. “I knew I wasn’t trying to hurt him because Aaron is definitely one of my favorites to play against, one of my favorites to watch.”

Floyd says he tries not to pay attention to outside noise, but uses these messages as motivation.

Rodgers is fully healthy and will enter his second season with the Jets with high expectations, probably the highest for a team with a quarterback over 40 not named Tom Brady.

Floyd was also a threat against the Jets in the second meeting between the two teams last season, bringing Zach Wilson onto the field just as he did Rodgers.

The 49ers have plenty of defensive weapons that Rodgers will need to master to leave San Francisco victorious Monday night.
