Our test glove is slightly different this time, because we cannot deploy our typical reference sequence on Steamos. In particular, Steamos does not support our usual call of duty: modern references of war III or F1 2024. However, we used reference tools in games like Guardians of the Galaxy, Shadow of the Tomb RaiderAnd Cyberpunk 2077that we used to test all these systems. Each console was tested in the performance mode of the device while being connected directly to the power supply, the only differences being the resolution. (The Steam bridge screen is 800p while the three Go S Go models are 1200p.)
Using the graphical preset of the steam bridge, as shown in the table below, the OLED steam bridge has on average 32 images per second (FPS), while the Legion Go S (with Z2 GO and windows in progress) pushed only 23 image per match in the cyberpunk. This is a substantial fall, since the Z2 GO chip of the model is similar in the construction of the personalized AMD personalized APU of the Steam bridge.
On the other hand, the legion equipped with Go Z2 goes with Steam I did much better – and, again, the only difference between the two versions is the operating system. The GO based on Steam was on average 39 frames per second, an increase of 69% compared to the Windows version of the same machine. (By way of comparison, the machine Z1 Extreme Steamos came with a 50 frames per second, an amazing increase of 121% compared to its lower Windows counterpart). These gains from two devices are smaller compared to the steam bridge, but always significant. The Z2 GO steam model experienced an increase in performance of 21% compared to the steam bridge, while the Z1 Extreme model allowed a performance advantage of 59%. Remember, of course, that the steam bridge is running a screen not trivially lower.
Of course, increase the parameters of ultra knececoptes performance at all levels, and do not even think of deploying a tracing of rays. (The Windows model could not even perform this level of the test.) These portable machines simply cannot manage it.
Passing to Guardians of the Galaxy, the 2021 action game is quite a spectator and works well on these portable devices. In deployment of the internal reference index on weak presets with the resolution set to 720p, we saw 52fps on the steam bridge, 56 images per second on the Legion Go S with Z2 GO and Steamos, and an impressive 77 images by From The Legion Go S with Z1 Extreme with Steamos. The game would not even start on the Windows pocket computer.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider ages, but it’s still one of the best games to date. It is not checked Steam Deck, but the game is always playable on the system, as we see in our references. The steam bridge pushed 44 images per second, while the Windows Go G legion managed 36 images per second. On the other hand, the vapor legion has seen a notable bump at 49 images per second using the same chip. Of course, the Z1 Extreme model has once again directed this graph.
Remember that these four systems have lower performance ceilings that Laptops of play Or desk TO DO. Current superior games are often incompatible with portable consoles or require extremely low graphic parameters to run. Although I am completely impressed by what the Z1 Extreme and the Z2 Go can do without the windows holding them, none of the fleas is exactly the test of future.
From these benchmarks, we can conclude that the Windows partition seems to cause game performance with its treatment overload. In window release, the Go S legion works much better, even by moving the steam bridge to higher resolutions. However, the extreme Z1 is the star of our references. He shines on Steamos, pulling well before the three systems in direct comparison.
Battery life test
Like the Windows edition, the Lenovo Legion Go S with Steamos uses a 55.5Wh battery. It is slightly larger than the 50Wh of the steam, which promises about three to 12 hours of play on a single load. Lenovo does not lighten an endurance estimated at the battery in charge, but we can expect an approximately similar longevity.
However, the battery life depends on the game you play. A graphically intensive game, like Baldur’s Gate 3 or Starfield, will probably attract more power than something simple like the survivors of the vampire. While we cannot compare the pocket computer using the open source mixer movie Steel tears That we use to test laptops, we can at least apply real tests and compare it with the devices in hand.

We have adjusted the 50% luminosity system to 100% volume, with adaptive brightness, and deactivated all the dark display and sleep options. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi have also been disabled, and we define the power supply profile of each system on performance. I lit door 3 of Baldur and let the pocket computer sit until the battery was drained. The Go Steam Legion lasted 1 hour and 39 minutes until its Z2 GO chip is tapped.
This result is disappointing since the OLED steam bridge lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes under the same conditions. Naturally, the high -resolution screen draws more energy, and the OLED panel of the steam bridge probably does not shine as brilliantly as the IPS screen of the GO Legion at 50%, based more on its upper color coverage. The advantage is that the device supports the super fast load function, which will bring the system to around 30% battery after 10 minutes, while 30 minutes should bring it to around 70%. Lenovo says it takes about 80 minutes for a full load.
