As the plane banner suggested, football director Jon Rudkin and the board of directors were the target of fans this season.
They see Rudkin as a deep cause of their decline in recent seasons. He was, of course, in the same position where the Foxes amazed the world to win the Premier League in 2016, but the supporters decided.
This does not help that the hierarchy rarely speak publicly, allowing supporters to understand and digest the situation.
The Director General Susan Whelan met twice the Trust Foxes and the Club Fans Advisory Council in February for frank and constructive meetings, but the wider fans base remains disconnected.
President Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha decides to modify above, is the recruitment manager of Martyn Glover exposed more following a certain number of mediocre transfer windows, whatever the financial constraints?
Van Nistelrooy’s position remains a doubt and it is difficult to see a long -term future following overwhelming statistics.
The defeat against Liverpool leaves him with the little enviable record of having lost 17 of his 22 games, winning only three. He has lost 16 of his last 18 games in charge, and which manager with this file survives?
Van Nistelrooy, who confirmed that there was no date set for interviews on his future, said on Sunday: “I am waiting for the club and how they want to continue.
“This is the goal of leading the club. I have to wait for how the club sees things and take it from there.
“The club must use this time, otherwise you will waste it. In a situation like this, you must sit very carefully with the club to discuss questions.”
However, dismiss a second manager of the season has financial consequences and with tight money, it will be a consideration. Can Leicester allow himself financially to return Van Nistelrooy but, in the future, can they afford it?
There is also an acceptance that the team needs a reset but that only three players are without contract – the goalkeepers Daniel Iversen and Danny Ward, and Captain Jamie Vardy, 38.
What is happening with Vardy – influencing the club as the last winner of the title and the 198 goals’ marker – remains open, but it is the biggest decision that the club must take in terms of team given its reputation and its achievements.
This means that Leicester must move large wages to make large changes to a team which, on the whole, has dropped them twice.
Wilfred Ndidi signed a new three -year contract last summer, but his appetite for another championship campaign probably decreased and the same goes for defenders Ricardo Pereira and Wout Faes. Although, as part of the decline of Leicester, they must find takers.
The goalkeeper Mads Hermansen was a rare luminous point and will have his admirers, just like Bilal El Khannouss, despite a disappointing first season in England, while the situation of Winks could depend on the release of Van Nistelrooy.
Like each club, the rules of profit and sustainability will be a concern, sales are therefore inevitable and that the threat of an action possibly more in -depth of the EFL remains.
Leicester escaped a deduction of points for a violation of the PSR in the three years to June 30, 2023, making success that the Premier League did not have the power to punish them because they were already in the EFL at the time of the charge, and the club remains in talks with the Premier League and the EFL.
However, they must fall under a jurisdiction and cannot be left to float.
For the moment, however, Leicester knows that they will be a championship club next season and deeply rooted problems – which prefer and exceed Van Nistelrooy – must be treated.
They made an immediate return the last time, they went down in 2023. This time, their short -term future is much less certain.
