LeBron James continues to reach a new level in basketball history.

While Michael Jordan remains the greatest player of all time for many NBA fans, James continues to add to his crown.

The league’s oldest player finished the 2023-24 regular season with some superb statistical accomplishments.

James, 39, became both the youngest and oldest player in NBA history to record at least 25 points and 15 assists in a game.

He first accomplished this feat at the age of 20 with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2005.

Nearly 20 years later, The King has eclipsed the same numbers with the Los Angeles Lakers, who will face the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday in a playoff play-in game.

The Lakers must win their play-in game(s) to advance to the first round of the playoffs.

No matter what happens against the Pelicans, James is already in a rare position in NBA history and the next stat says it all.

The No. 1 pick in the 2003 NBA Draft finished his 2023-24 regular season by becoming the first player in league history to score 40,000 points, record 11,000 rebounds and dish out 11,000 assists over the course of his career.

“Bro has a career triple double,” one fan tweeted.

James' next challenge is to get the Lakers out of the play-in games and into the playoffs.

“Most of us don’t even realize that what we see today is already history,” a second fan posted. “The time will come when we will all look back on this day and see how great this man has been since day one.”

“He’s been playing longer than NBA kids on Twitter have been alive,” a third fan wrote.

Unsuspecting Fan Has Priceless Reaction While Sitting Next to LeBron James

While the Lakers finished the regular season with a 47-35 record and in eighth place in the Western Conference, James statistically outperformed Jordan in almost every key category.

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer already had over 11,000 rebounds and recently crossed the 11,000 assist mark.

He is on pace to surpass 41,000 points if he returns next season.

The Lakers must find their way through the play-in test, then the playoffs, after a difficult season.

With James’ son, Bronny, set to enter the NBA draft, it’s unclear what the King’s basketball future will be.

But it is already certain that James posted insane numbers, never seen before in NBA history.
