The Los Angeles Lakers superstar was announced as the first male athlete to be a “Kenbassador” with its own doll created by Mattel.
According to the Mattel Creations website, the doll was created in collaboration with the LeBron James family foundation and will embody its “high streetwear style of the signature” with a range of different outfits.
The different outfits and accessories available include a “LJ” university jacket with Ohio state patches, the LeBron James family foundation logo and James Signature No. 23 on the sleeves; A “we are family” t-shirt; Sneakers Nike Blue and White Terminator and beat of headphones.
David Betancourt of athletics noted that the James doll was an inch more than the traditional Ken doll.
James joins a list of famous athletes who had their resemblance immortalized by Mattel as part of the Barbie family.
The legend of the WNBA, Sue Bird and the Tennis icon, Venus Williams was one of the nine female athletes who had Barbie dolls made in their image last summer as part of the company Summer of Sports and to honor the 65th anniversary of Mattel.
Fans will have the opportunity to buy the James Collectible from April 14. It will be available in certain online stores and retailers for $ 75.
With a little luck, James will team up with Ryan Gosling to make a duo of “I’m Jut Ken” now that the Legend of the NBA is part of the Barbie family.
