LeBron James declares himself “definitely awake”

[ad_1]

LeBron James is once again trying to insert himself into the Jerry Jones story, further explaining why he wanted the media to ask him about the Cowboys owner’s past.

Last week, James chastised the sports media for not asking his opinion on a 1957 photo dredged up by the media which shows a teenager Jones in the crowd during a highly charged segregation incident at a Northern Little high school Rock.

A teenage Jones is seen in a photo among a group of white students confronting several black students who were being interviewed by the media outside a high school. At the time, schools in Arkansas were separate.

James brought it all up again when he appeared on Amazon Thursday night football simulcast with The shop.

“I just hold them accountable, letting them know ‘I see you,’ he said, adding surprise to no one, ‘I’m definitely awake, that’s for sure.

He went on to complain that the media was too hard on the athletes.

β€œThe media is so quick to hold us athletes, especially black athletes, to hold us accountable,” he insisted. β€œWe can’t make mistakes, they want to talk about everything. I wanted to hold the media accountable, the fact that they didn’t ask any of us, I didn’t hear any questions for any athlete, especially in the basketball world, about the situation.

The really rich part of it all is that James says he has to hold the media accountable. During this time, the media never held him responsible for anything. LeBron James is making millions and millions of dollars thanks to China – the world’s worst human rights violator and a country that uses slave labor. And he does this by kneeling for social justice in America in so-called solidarity with oppressed peoples. Never, not once, has the sports media called him out on this blatant hypocrisy, at least not in a meaningful way.

So James can talk all he wants about media accountability. However, he better hope that the media will never decide to return the favor and hold him accountable, as his business dealings with communist China and his professed political leanings here at home are ripe fruits within reach. hand, even for the most intellectually challenged American journalist.

As for the Jerry Jones photo, the Cowboys owner explained that he was just an interested onlooker when the photo was taken and doesn’t recall realizing he was witnessing a “monumental event. at the time.

β€œI’m really glad we’re a long way from it. I am. It would remind me [to] just keep doing everything we can to make sure this stuff doesn’t happen,” he said.
