Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted was leaked and after some initial hands-on testing, fans encountered various issues.
The game won’t be released for a few days, but the leak took place on the EA app. One person even spread the title. Unfortunately, the reception hasn’t been great so far.
Most of the initial problems could stem from how EA and PopCap decided to build the base of Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted. Strangely, it appears to be a Unity reimplementation of the Windows Phone version, according to reports. Why the team decided to go this route leaves many people perplexed.
Perhaps because of the decision to reuse the Windows Phone version as a base, we hear that there are a lot of bugs. Hopefully this is something EA will fix later, if it’s not close to launch. We’ll also mention that AI scaling is being used – although, again, reception to it has been mixed.
Fans of Plants vs. Zombies were excited for the release of Replanted as we haven’t really seen the game in many years, so what was released for fans was disappointing. If you want to pick it up, you can do so on October 23 for Nintendo Switch 2 or Switch – a new launch trailer is live here.
