Leaker reveals specs and launch pricing for upcoming ASUS ROG Ally gaming handheld

Somewhat spoiling ASUS’s plans in the process, @MysteryLupin implies that the ROG Ally X will be available in only one configuration, unlike the existing ROG Ally (curr. $669 at Amazon). As was previously suggested, the ROG Ally X will also see the return of the Ryzen Z1 platform which also powers the Lenovo Legion Go, not just the ROG Ally. Specifically, @MysteryLupin claims that the ROG Ally X will only feature the Ryzen Z1 Extreme, effectively a custom Ryzen 7 7840U.

Additionally, @MysteryLupin specifies that the ROG Ally X will be limited to a black finish. Presumably to help distinguish the ROG Ally X from the ROG Ally, the color choice could also make the ROG Ally It looks like ASUS is targeting an introductory price of $799 for the ROG Ally X, which would make it $100 more expensive than the ROG Ally’s introductory price. From what ASUS has hinted so far, the ROG Ally X will feature a larger battery and more RAM to justify the extra $100, among other improvements.
