We’ve known for a while that Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy Watch 7 series during its Unpacked event in July. Details on the new smartwatches are slim, but as the launch gets closer, we’re hearing more about them.

Besides hearing about them, this is the first time we also see something about them. Renders of the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra have leaked online, giving us our first look at the major design upgrade Samsung is introducing with its upcoming smartwatch lineup.

The Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra strives to look like a normal watch

These leaked renders show that Samsung has tried to find a happy medium between a square design and the circular design that its Galaxy Watch devices have become synonymous with. The result is something that looks a lot like traditional Panerai watches.

Beyond this, other observations are worth making. There appears to be a third physical button in the middle, flanked by the usual two physical buttons. Perhaps this could pave the way for additional features, especially related to Galaxy AI.

Larger speaker grills also appear to be visible in addition to a sleeker integration of the watch bands with the case. The screen remains circular, said to be 1.5 inches, with the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra measuring 47 x 47.4 x 16.4 mm. The beloved rotating bezel has been retained, with the bezel adorned with 5-minute interval markings, another design choice that makes it look more like a non-smart watch.

Previous reports suggested that the Galaxy Watch 7 series would have a new chipset, charge 50% faster than its predecessor, and could finally enable blood sugar monitoring. Expect Samsung to unveil the Galaxy Watch 7 series at its Unpacked event on July 10 in Paris, France.
