Laura Woods will return to TV after freak accident as ITV names its Euro 2024 squad… with Graeme Souness and Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou to join Roy Keane and Gary Neville in Germany

Laura Woods will make her return to television following her freak accident, after ITV revealed details of its Euro 2024 coverage.

The presenter was forced to withdraw from the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight after suffering horrific cuts to her arms and face while “swinging a pillow into a glass lampshade”.

ITV has, however, revealed that she and Mark Pougatch will be presenting throughout the upcoming tournament in Germany.

They also revealed that Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will be part of their expert squad, which also includes Graeme Souness, Ian Wright, Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Eni Aluko.

Postecoglou, a student of football, is considered a private figure outside the game and his views could well give the broadcaster the edge over the BBC.

Mail Sport revealed on Tuesday that ITV appear to have the upper hand as they attempt to sign Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou as a pundit for the tournament.

Postecoglou will be considered a hot ticket after an entertaining first season at Tottenham.

Detailing the incident that led to her injuries, Woods revealed she was lucky the falling glass missed her eye.

“I threw a pillow and hit a large glass lampshade hanging from the ceiling above me, which shattered and cut my face and arms, but luckily I missed my eye.” She wrote on Instagram.

“I wanted to say a few thanks, firstly to Adam, for being my hero that day, for acting so quickly and for not leaving my side since, and for his family who took care of me at a time when I was petrified.

“To my agents Alex Maguire and Matthew Odonohue at CAA who immediately sought out the best help. To Dr. Yannis Alexandrides and his wonderful medical assistant Zuzanna at 111 who opened their emergency office and came on their days off, they have been so kind and have already made magic that I didn’t think was possible to reduce the damage.

“I have added photos since then to show that although it may seem crude, it is already a wonderful improvement and I am very grateful.”

“It was quite a shock and I was a bit sad, but I feel very lucky that it wasn’t worse. So a big thank you to my eyebrow too, for bearing the brunt.
