Fox News host Laura Ingraham opens up about the struggles young Americans face with mental health and drug use, especially after COVID lockdowns on “The Ingraham Angle.”
LAURA INGRAHAM: American youth are in the midst of a real mental health crisis. The Washington Post reports that the CDC found nearly 45% of high school students were consistently sad or hopeless in 2021. Nearly one in five have seriously considered suicide, and 9% in this survey have attempted suicide in the course of of the previous 12 months. It turns out that locking kids up, depriving them of socialization, depriving them of sports and milestones, and then confusing them with gender fluidity propaganda doesn’t make them happy and well-adjusted. Where are children going to be children again?

Everywhere you turn, this mental health epidemic is exploding, like in North Carolina, where they desperately need more psychiatric beds to deal with the worsening crisis there, and in Wisconsin, their investigation on young people’s risky behavior raises more red flags. Eighteen percent of teens say they have seriously considered suicide in the past year, the highest level since 2003. Today, that percentage rises to nearly half for those who are LGBT and bisexual students and female students were more than twice as likely to think about suicide as male students. This is completely outrageous and heartbreaking. Something is wrong with what we are doing to our children.
