The McKinney Fire has spread over more than 82 square miles after erupting Friday in a largely uninhabited area of the Klamath National Forest, just south of the Oregon border. It is the largest fire of the year in California to date.
Two bodies were found inside a charred vehicle on Sunday in a residential driveway near the remote community of Klamath River, Calif., the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Monday. The victims were not immediately identified.
