Last on recovery efforts for 4 missing American soldiers in Lithuania on March 30

“It is with a deep sadness that I share the heartbreaking news of the loss of three brave soldiers of the 1st brigade, the 3rd infantry division, which tragically lost their life during a mission to recover vehicles in Lithuania,” said army secretary Daniel P. Driscoll.

The soldiers disappeared on the morning of March 25. Their vehicle was then located overwhelmed in a mixture of mud, water and silt in a wooded area near the border of Lithuania with the Bélarus.
