The Washington Post editorial board on Wednesday hammered Republicans who attacked President Joe Biden’s tenure on the COVID-19 vaccine “as an attack on personal freedom.”

“It makes stupid logic,” the newspaper wrote, stressing that the mandate “is meant to save lives, and therefore jobs, savings and families.”

After noting how Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) banned the tenure in his state, the board sarcastically imagined other mandatory security measures that the GOP could now try to roll back in his quest for “freedom”.

“Do the Republicans plan to rebel next time against mandatory seat belts for cars?” he asked. “Do they think that a mandatory stop at a stop sign limits their freedom? Don’t they like mandatory fire alarms? “

“After so many losses and deaths last year and that, it is time to accept that the mandates of vaccines and masks protect us all,” concluded the board of directors. “Let’s start ending the pandemic. “
