Travis frontman Fran Healy said there was “so much blood” after being “maimed” by a runaway sausage dog he tried to rescue from the middle of a car crash.
The musician said it happened in Los Angeles – where he now lives – and he had to drive to hospital as he was bleeding.
Healy described the bizarre incident on Twitter next to a photo of his injured hand.
He said he jumped out of his car after seeing three other vehicles “jacked up” near his home and a daschund running “out of the midst of chaos”.
“The cars are bombing our hill and it would have been toast. So I tried to pick it up and it ripped the shit out of my left hand.
“I held on, hoping to throw him on our porch, but I slipped and he ran away,” Healy said.
The 48-year-old said a neighbor called an ambulance, but a fire truck “with 5 Calvin Klein models” showed up and suggested he go to A&E.
Healy – whose hits with her band Travis include Why Does It Always Rain On Me? and Sing – tweeted that doctors cleaned her finger but it’s “bloody”.

The star added, “The dog… is fine. It was stuck at the bottom of the hill and the owner, who lives in Stevie Nicks’ old house (pop pickers), has been reunited.”
