Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday he was the number one target, but said: “I stay in the capital, I stay with my people.”
“They want to destroy Ukraine politically by destroying the head of state,” Zelensky added. “We also have information that enemy sabotage groups have entered Kyiv. That’s why I ask a lot of Kyivians: be careful, respect the curfew rules.”
On Thursday, some Ukrainians took the subway – which acts as a bomb shelter – to protect themselves from attacks.
It is a story of rupture. Check back for updates.
