Lando Norris criticized the media during his recent difficult period after winning the victory in the Monaco Grand Prix, describing what was written as “All Crap”.
The Briton has bounced recent qualification struggles to establish a new record of Tour of the Monaco circuit, ensuring him pole position in front of the hero of the house Charles Leclerc.
He converted pole position into a famous first victory of Monaco, marking his first pole and his victory since the opening of the season in Australia.
In doing so, he reduced Oscar Piastri’s advance in the title of F1 pilots at only three points, putting him in the running before the Spanish Grand Prix.
Norris recognized that his recent difficulties were largely covered by the media, to which he insisted that what was reported is inaccurate.
“Yeah, people can write what they want. It’s not mine,” said Norris. “People have their own opinions, they can do all these things. The thing is, none of them is true, 99% of the time. So it’s shit.
“I don’t mind what people write as long as I know the truth and my team knows the truth, and that’s good. I worked hard in recent months to start having this momentum that I had in Australia, confidence.
“What I felt this weekend was a little step forward, but that’s not it. It is not as if I had nailed it now and everything is back. There are still things I have to work on, there are still things – as a team – they give me the equipment – and I don’t mean just a faster car, because the car is fairly fast – but giving me the things that I need and The differences in the last year of this year.
“So, always things on both sides, but I’m very proud to (pole). I am happy with the result of Saturday than I am (victory). I mean, it is incredible, but I was more emotional (after qualification) than me (after winning).”
Norris qualifying the return “groove”
Since Australia, qualifications have been the major problem of Norris, several errors of the T3 having been made in the recent prices of the big ones.
Important points have been lost following a bad starting position, despite the racing pace constantly strong all season.
It is for this reason that Pole meant more for him than victory, because the qualifications were his main setback.
“It is how much (pole) meant for me, to recover my groove in qualification, because it is something that I just had all my life,” added Norris. “It has always been good, until this year. And I had to work hard to try to recover it.
“For no other reason, apart from a few things with which I clearly fought and that I also just a difficult competition. Having Oscar, Charles, Max, I’m against the best guys in the world. And if you don’t play at the highest level, you are not going to compete.
