Before the Saudi Grand Prix of this weekend, Norris opened his recent difficulties with McLaren’s MCL39, who forced him to adapt her driving style compared to last season.
“I was not satisfied with how the last weekends were, not because they were necessarily bad weekends, but because they were not as good as they should be and as they can be,” said Norris.

“I try to do the best possible and when things are not going on and things do not work as they should be, I was a little disappointed. Some who include me have to drive in different ways and learn different things and that’s something I know that I have to come this weekend and try to do.
“I will not necessarily drive as I did last year and as I know I’m good. What is weird to say in my seventh season of F1 but I always learn things, the car is definitely different from the way it was, so I have to adapt a lot in an uncomfortable way.
“But I arrive with probably less pressure, I put less pressure because I probably understand a little more of these reasons.”
