Lalbaugcha Raja Darshan: Where to Watch Lalbaugcha Raja Live Online and Order Prasad

Lalbaugcha Raja Darshan: The 10-day Ganesh festival began in Maharashtra on Saturday with idols of the deity being installed in homes and public pandals across the state amid fanfare and merriment. Families, including children and elderly people, came out of their homes early in the morning to bring their beloved deity home amid chants of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ and beating of drums.

Lalbaugcha Raja is one of the most famous and revered Ganesh idols in Mumbai, created in 1934. Devotees from all over India wait in long queues to catch a glimpse of the idol and seek blessings.

In Mumbai, around 15,000 police personnel, besides senior officials, have been deployed to ensure security during the 10-day festival.

Bright and colourful lights have already illuminated the streets and lanes of Lalbaug, Parel, Girgaon, Andheri, Chembur, Fort and other areas of Mumbai that house the famous Ganapati mandals, PTI reported.

Hundreds of thousands of devotees visit some of the most popular pandals such as ‘Lalbaugcha Raja’ during the festival. Other well-known mandals in the region include Chinchpokli, Ganesh Gully and Tejukaya.

Matunga’s GSB Seva Mandal, known for its gold-adorned Lord Ganesh, is considered one of the richest mandals. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday urged residents to celebrate the Ganesh festival in an eco-friendly manner.

In a statement made on the eve of the start of the ten-day festivities, Shinde expressed hope that the elephant-headed lord would shower his blessings on everyone.

The heritage and culture of Maharashtra is highlighted during this festival, he said, appealing to people to preserve this legacy. He also asked Ganesh devotees to extend help to the needy and underprivileged sections of the society.

Meanwhile, the BMC has asked people to be on guard against stingray and jellyfish bites during the immersion of Ganesh festival idols. Hundreds of large idols are immersed in the Arabian Sea.

Harmful fish that can bite Ganesh devotees during immersion have been found in large numbers in a ‘test net’ conducted by the fisheries department of the Maharashtra government, a BMC statement said.

Test net fishing was conducted off the coasts of Girgaon and Dadar and fish like Dhomi, Kolambi, Shingti, Blue Jelly Fish, Ghoda Masa, Chhote Ravas etc were found along with jellyfish and stingrays, he said. Citizens should take precautions while immersing Ganapati, the BMC said.
