The owners of a historic field of Flintridge La Cañada with a quasi-active park in the backyard accepted an offer from an unidentified buyer only after having registered the property for $ 8.5 million.

“As soon as we hit the market, their agent called and I had an offer from them right away,” Kathy Searylemezian said Coldwell Banker Realty, the inscription agent, by phone. “It was a quick sequestration and all the contingencies were deleted, so the possibility of falling is slim in zero.”

The Dutch Dutch style residence with 5,622 square feet, built in 1915 and designated a historic property of the city, includes a total of six bedrooms and eight bathrooms between the main houses and the guest houses. It is located on more than 1.5 acres of well maintained land with a unique characteristic – a children’s train.

Current owners David and Sherry Kirchheimer discovered rusty remains of railways that a former owner had installed, they told the Wall Street Journal, which first reported history. The files show that the couple bought the house in July 2008 for $ 6.175 million.

The Kirchheimers recreated the railway with the help of the late Disney Imagineer Bill Tyson in 2011.

Today, the Flintheim Railroad has a station with a crossing fire. The child size train up to five people moves to around 530 feet of slopes through a tunnel, on two bridges and in front of a general store and a mining camp. The train hangar is a replica of the Railroad Grizzly Flats of Disney Animator Ward Kimball, which operated in the backyard of its House in San Gabriel between 1942 and 2006.

Winner of several prices “La Cañada Beautiful”, the land includes a swimming pool of 50 feet on 19 feet with a diver surrounded by a two -level bridge, a rose garden and a Wisteria top pergola.

The personalized game structure has climbing walls and a bridge.

A closed and irrigated vegetable garden, fruit trees and an integrated barbecue island with bar seats improve the bucolic setting centered around the 5 bedroom main house, which includes a covered porch overlooking the well -maintained lawn.

The house, which has been renovated over the decades, opens onto a large hall with a curved staircase.

The French doors flood the formal dining room of natural light and a chimney anchors the living room.

The gourmet kitchen includes high-end devices, a large island with a preparation sink, a deep pantry, a separate butler pantry and a breakfast corner. He flows into the large family room with a fireplace.

A second staircase in the kitchen leads to an office, with two bedrooms and the main suite, which has direct access to a balcony.

The suite also includes a living room warmed by a fireplace, a raised bedroom, two deep cupboards and a bathroom inspired by the spa with a jet bathtub, double sinks and a separate shower cabin.

The other structures of the property include the guest house of a bedroom with a living room and a complete kitchen, a fitness area with a balcony above the separate garage in two cars and a workshop and a dedicated store with a wooden work bench. The game house has a stone chimney, a bar area and a billiard table.

There is a large closed play area for dogs.

The property has a generator Generac 20 kilowatt with a rescue propane tank, a San Marino security system and rings cameras. In addition to the garage, there is a car shelter for two cars and a flat circular driveway which can accommodate a dozen vehicles.

Seuylemezian plans that the sale will end within two weeks, although the sale price has not yet been disclosed.
