Kylie Kelce is waiting for her fourth child with the retired player of NFL Jason Kelce – and she knows one thing or two about pregnancy treatments.
During an interview with Alex Cooper on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast on Wednesday, Kelce shared three things that men should do for their pregnant women.
“Remember that your wife cultivates a human,” Kelce, 32, told Cooper. “Sometimes I think guys say to themselves:” Oh, she’s going well. “And I’m like no.
It is also important for men to adopt an attitude “this too will pass” and remember that the challenges of pregnancy – like mood swings – are temporary, she said.
“I had pregnancies where I was really, really emotional, and after pregnancy, I say to myself: ‘Jason, I don’t know how you did that. Jesus, thank you for having stuck with me, “Kelce says.
The couple has been married since 2018, and they share three girls – Wyatt Elizabeth, Eliot Ray and Bennett Llewellyn – with a fourth girl on the way.
Finally, Kelce says that new mothers also need their husband’s support during the postpartum period-perhaps even more than during pregnancy.
“Postpartum is one of the most difficult things I have ever done with all my life. The work is like a drop in the bucket compared to the postpartum,” said Kelce.
She added that she did not feel immediately linked to her eldest daughter, Wyatt, the first time she brought her home.
“I didn’t feel immediate, like” it’s my baby “,” said Kelce. “I didn’t have this sensational, like” I’m a mother now. “It was like slow ease.”
The first weeks postpartum were also difficult for his body, she said.
“We are both in diapers. I have a cooling cushion on my lady’s pieces. I am afraid of sitting at one point because it hurts so badly, and at the same time, every two hours, I am supposed to connect to my breasts and something will happen, “said Kelce.
Postpartum generally refers to the first six to eight weeks after delivery. During this period, many changes – physical and emotional – occur in the body of a woman.
The physical symptoms that new mothers can experience include engorgeing breasts, cramps and vaginal bleeding. Some women also have emotional symptoms, such as postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety.
“Postnatal depression and anxiety are incredibly common and it is so important that it is identified early to help you receive the support and treatment you may need,” said Dr. Brooke Vandermolen , an OB / Gyn, told Business Insider.
“Communicating your feelings can really help others around you, what you feel,” she said.
In addition to resting enough, new mothers should also pay attention to their diet, remain hydrated and limit their physical activity at least until their doctors give them the green light, by Cleveland Clinic.
A Kelce representative did not immediately respond to a request for comments sent by BI outside of normal hours.
