Kylian Mbappe is a player who could take this World Cup by the scruff of the neck, but even he is capable of missing an absolute keeper.
The Paris Saint-Germain star started for France in their World Cup clash against Australia and ensured the Socceroos had plenty to think about with a goal.

After some good work from Griezmann, the ball was handed over to Mbappe who overshot his effort despite an open goal.

It’s good to know that a talent like Mbappe is human after all
However, he won’t want to see his missed chance again at the end of the first half.
With France 2-1 down, Mbappe was passed the ball by Antoine Griezmann and had the seemingly simple task of tapping into an empty net.
Unfortunately, the 23-year-old got it wrong as he threw his effort over the bar before flashing an embarrassed smile as he put his head in his hands.
That said, Mbappe’s threat was clear to all using his electric pace down the left flank, he was a constant source of anxiety for Australia as they desperately tried to match his pace.
He finally scored his goal after scoring four in 2018.
“The Australian backline, who have been quite sincere in their efforts, couldn’t keep up with France’s pace,” said Stuart Pearce, who was monitoring talkSPORT.
Mbappe will be happy, but at least the miss shows he’s human after all.
