The striker, a World Cup winner with France and seven-time Ligue 1 champion, is considered one of the best players in world football even though he has never won the Champions League.

He joins the reigning champions’ squad which boasts some of Europe’s best talents, including Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr.

With Madrid’s blockbuster new signing soon to be official, talkSPORT.com took a look at how they could line up next season.

Three-time La Liga winner Thibaut Courtois is likely to return as starting goalkeeper after missing most of the 2023/24 campaign with an ACL injury.

He started in the Champions League final against Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga, with the latter due to return to Chelsea this summer at the end of his loan spell.

In central defense, Eder Militao and David Alaba have also suffered ACL injuries this season, with the former returning in March and the latter not playing since December.

Militao, who has won ten trophies in five years at Madrid, could therefore claim a starting place alongside Antonio Rudiger, the former Chelsea player who has kept 22 clean sheets this season.

Ferland Mendy has regularly been named at left-back since arriving from Lyon in 2019, contributing largely to their domestic and European success.

After scoring the opening goal in the Champions League final win over Borussia Dortmund, long-serving Dani Carvajal is expected to remain at right-back.

The Spaniard has been at Madrid since 2013 and has made 416 appearances for the club, winning four La Liga titles and six European crowns, among others.

Although Toni Kroos recently announced his retirement, Madrid still have plenty of options in midfield, with Federico Valverde having only missed one game this season.

He could be set to play alongside talented 21-year-old Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga, with club legend and veteran Luka Modric and Aurélien Tchouameni also interesting options.

Attacking midfielder Bellingham is very likely to play in front of them after an incredible debut season.

The England star scored 23 goals and assisted a further 13 in all competitions during his treble-winning campaign, during which he made 42 appearances.

To the left of Madrid’s top three could be Vinicius Jr, who scored his second goal in the Champions League final.

That took his tally to 24 for the season and, like Bellingham, the Brazilian was touted as a contender for this year’s illustrious Ballon d’Or.

The versatile Rodrygo has proven an effective teammate alongside his compatriot in attack and he looks set to take up his popular position on the right wing.

And leading the line for Madrid will be Mbappé, with the 25-year-old arriving as their latest signing from the ‘Galactico’.

Having scored 256 goals in 308 matches for PSG, the Frenchman is one of the most clinical finishers in world football and could be an ideal role model for 17-year-old Endrick, who also arrives this summer.

Mbappe will surely take the team to the next level and be part of a team that could dominate Europe in the years to come.

Speaking to talkSPORT, European football expert Andy Brassell echoed the sentiment: “It just gives us the feeling that maybe this is the time when Real Madrid start to build a dynasty in Europe.

“They have a team that was in semi-transition this season, where Bellingham had a much better season than could have reasonably been expected.

“A lot of their other players did the same, but in this ‘transitional season’, quote unquote, they won La Liga losing one game the whole season, they won the Champions League and they won the (Spain ) The Super Cup is extraordinary.

“So you think with him and Endrick coming over from Brazil of course, they’re in an incredible position of strength.”
