kyiv adds PepsiCo and Mars to its list of ‘international war sponsors’ — RT in French

The Ukrainian National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ANCP) added the two American agri-food giants to its blacklist on September 1, accusing them of continuing their activities in Russia.

Two American multinationals have been pilloried by kyiv. Blaming them for not having “chosen sides”, PepsiCo and Mars went to join the list of “international sponsors of the war”.

“Despite the declarations of these companies relating to the cessation of all trade, advertising and production in Russia, the latter continue to work there”, can we read this September 1 on the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ANCP) which updates the infamous list. The latter notably criticizes the two agri-food companies “for paying taxes” in Russia and for having “increased their income” and for “actively seeking new employees”.

Since the start of the Russian offensive, the two American food groups have nevertheless paid tens of millions of dollars in aid to the Ukrainians.

On May 5, Mars announced $25 million to provide “food, shelter, comfort and assistance services to the Ukrainian people”. In April 2022, in addition to putting $15 million on the table to put its employees in a safe place and fund nurseries and schools for their children, PepsiCo declared its frank and explicit support for Ukraine. The two companies have so far not reacted to the ANCP’s decision.

Mars and PepsiCo thus join the fifty other international groups considered as “sponsors” of the “aggressor”. Among them, other big names on Wallstreet such as Procter & Gamble, Mondelez International, or the Chinese Alibaba as well as French firms such as Leroy Merlin and Auchan as well as the cosmetics company Yves Rocher, pinned by the ANCP for having paid his taxes in Russia.
