Krysten Ritter is officially back as a Marvel hero who fight hard and hardly lodging Jessica Jones.
The announcement was made during Disney’s initial presentation to advertisers in New York on Tuesday. Ritter went on stage with Charlie Cox, star of “Daredevil Born again”, to reveal that she would join this show for her second season.
“It’s so great to be back, return to Jessica after three seasons and” defenders “and now join the MCU,” said Ritter. “I am so excited to bring this emblematic character back, and without giving too much, there is much more in reserve for Jessica Jones. It will be an incredible season!”
Ritter first played Jones in the eponymous series Netflix which made its debut in 2015. “Jessica Jones” was one of the five Marvel shows to broadcast on Netflix, with “Daredevil”, “Luke Cage”, “Iron First”, “The Punisher” and the cross series “The Defenders”. “Jessica Jones” was finally broadcast for three seasons, with its latest Netflix season broadcast in 2019. It was canceled, as well as all the other Marvel-Netflix shows, when Disney initiated plans to broadcast Marvel Cinematic Universe programs on Disney +.
Ritter received praise widespread for his representation of the character, who has great strength and the ability to fly. After a brief but missed as a superhero, Jones started working as a private investigator in New York.
As Variety Reported at the time, part of the Netflix-Marvel agreement included a provision that prevented the characters presented in the shows from appearing in any non-Netflix series or film for at least two years after cancellation.
Disney has already started to bring the characters back, with “Daredevil: Born again” with Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio who started on Disney + in March 2025. Jon Bernthal also returned to this program as Frank Castle, alias the Punisher, with season 2 of “Born of new” already in the works.
