When Kristen Kish won Top chef Season 10, she did not expect to be back.
Cut in season 21: the winner returned to her Alma Mater, this time as a host alongside the veterans (and friends) Gail Simmons and Tom Colicchio. “It was familiar but also very new at the same time,” explains Kish about his return. “It is as comfortable and familiar as something as uncomfortable and unknown.”
But since the victory in 2012, “Host” is not the only title that Kish has added to his curriculum vitae. “Something that was very passionate about me is to fill what I know like me as a Korean American with other American companies and Korean people,” Kish told E! So when she was approached to collaborate on her own Soju line, the answer was an easy yes.
The result is kish aperitif. The line includes four unique flavors of Soju which, according to Kish, “are based on different points of my life and different flavors that fascinate me”.
“Because I was adopted, I learn what it means to be Korean for me by the others,” explains the chef. “This is why being able to associate with a Korean brand and a founder was such a special opportunity.”
Kish has not finished adding to his CV. In April 2025, she published her first memories, Accidentally expressly, Available in pre-order now.
