This was a “moderate” practice, but still an encouraging update for Boston.

Kristaps Porzingis ‘experienced everything the team did’

In his first season as a Celtic, Kristaps Porzingis averaged 20.1 points and 7.2 rebounds.

Kristaps Porzingis fully participated in practice Saturday, according to Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla.

The Celtics center, out since Game 4 of the first round due to soleus strain, was active during Boston’s “moderate” practice.

“He experienced everything the team did today,” Mazzulla told reporters.

Mazzulla said Sunday’s training will be much more intense. He did not say whether Porzingis would fully participate in this practice.

Mazzulla said he enjoyed spending time with Porzingis during the playoffs. He said Porzingis had “been through so much” in the NBA that he still had the same composure and temperament.

Mazzulla called his disposition and experience a “gift” to the team this year.

“His highs don’t get too high, his lows don’t get too low,” Mazzulla told reporters. “He has great perspective, great understanding, great experiences.”
