Communication between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump is “extremely important” for an agreement on the end of the war in Ukraine, the Kremlin said on Friday.
The comments came after Trump announced Friday that he was ready to meet Putin “as soon as we can install him” to ask for a ceasefire in the conflict. “I think it’s time for us to do it. … We will do it,” he said.
“Contacts between President Putin and Trump are extremely important in the context of the Ukrainian colony,” said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, during a daily press briefing. “Of course, we agree with this thesis. This value can hardly be overestimated,” he added.
