Kohl’s reduced around 10% of his business workforce.
This decision comes for weeks after the difficulty in difficulty announced that he would close 27 “underperforming” stores in 15 states by April. This leaves approximately 1,120 Kohl locations in operation.
“The Real Estate Closures and the Corporate WorkForce Reduction Are Both Actions to Support Our Commitments to Increase Efficiency and Improve Profitability In The Business for the Long-Term Benefit of our Associates and Customers,” The Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin-Based Company SAID IN A Friday declaration.
Kohl said in November that he expects him to expect 2024 sales down 7% to 8%. The retailer reports its annual sales in February.
According to Kohl’s, more than half of the total cuts will come from the closing of the open positions while the rest of the positions have been occupied by the current partners.

“Knowing the impact that this has on our associates, we made this decision very seriously,” said Kohn. “All the associated affected have been informed and we have provided competitive starting packages to help support their transition.”

How many employees have been dismissed?
Kohl refused to offer a specific number of licensed employees, but noted that less than 200 were affected by the cuts.
