In a recent interview with Weekly entertainment, Harington spoke candidly about how the series got stuck in development and why it was temporarily put on hold.

Given Harington’s comments, it seems like a spinoff could still happen if they find a good enough story to bring the character back.

“Unless we find something in the future that’s really effective, there’s no point in rushing it. There’s no point in continuing to develop for development’s sake and do something I don’t want to do,” he said.
