This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown featured the final two semi-final matches of the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments, giving us the man and woman who will qualify for the event of the same name at the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to face GUNTHER and Lyra. Valkyrie, respectively.
First, Nia Jax took care of business against current tag team champion Bianca Belair, taking advantage of the fact that Belair was still nursing a knee issue from last week. Jax vowed to defeat the rising Valkyria en route to a title showdown with Bayley.
Later, Randy Orton came close to something he never did in his illustrious 20-year career, managing to overcome The Bloodline’s numbers game to defeat Tama Tonga. Earlier in the evening, The Viper had a little teaser with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
THE Summer Slam the main event, perhaps?
