Pope Francis is honored in the world after his death.
The Vatican announced on April 21 that the pontiff, born Jorge Mario Bergogliodied at the age of 88.
“At 7:35 am this morning, the bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the father’s house”, Cardinal Kevin Farrell said in a press release. “He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage and universal love, in particular in favor of the poorest and most marginalized.”
After his death, the Holy Father – who was hospitalized earlier this year while fighting pneumonia in the two lungs – was supported by his world leaders, especially King Charles IIIwho shared a message in the name of himself and Queen Camilla.
“My wife and I were very deeply saddened to learn the death of Pope Francis,” started Charles. “Our heavy hearts were somewhat attenuated, however, that his holiness was able to share a greeting of Easter with the Church and the world he served with such devotion throughout his life and his ministry.”
