King Charles’ health fears as general election forces him to take break

King Charles stepping back from royal duties ahead of the general election will do wonders for his health and recovery from cancer, a royal expert has claimed.

The monarch revealed earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with cancer. He has not revealed the type of cancer he is suffering from. However, he recently returned to public duties – something Queen Camilla shared her fears about.

However, as the general election approaches, the royal family has said it will postpone any engagements that could distract from the campaign.

And, as a result, royal expert Jennie Bond reckons six weeks off will do Charles the world of good.

King Charles’ health problems: ‘I’m trying to do too much’

Speaking to OK!, Jennie said the timing of the election would be a good thing for Charles. This comes as he continues his recovery from cancer.

After the election was called, Buckingham Palace released a statement. He said the family was postponing any royal engagements that could harm the campaign.

Charles will therefore benefit from a little rest in the coming weeks.

And it’s something that Jennie Bond says is absolutely necessary. She spoke of the “danger” the king put himself in by trying to do too much, too soon.

“Beneficiary Charles was arrested”

She said: “We know he is annoyed that his own reign is being hampered by his prostate and cancer problems. Today, it is once again stopped by the electoral campaign. Personally, however, I think it will be beneficial in the long run if Charles – and even William – are stopped by the protocol of an election campaign.

“As Camilla herself said, the king was in constant danger of trying to do too much, too soon in his recovery. And these six weeks of forced rest will give him the time he surely needs to regain his strength and fully recover before returning to full-time duties.

“The royal family regains its full fighting strength”

In addition to free time in the run-up to the election, King Charles will soon also take his summer vacation.

Jennie added: “Of course the summer holidays are coming up too. I think that’s a good thing too. Hopefully by the end of the year we will have a royal family with full fighting force again.

The Princess of Wales is also undergoing treatment for cancer.

Speaking recently about the monarch’s health, a Buckingham Palace representative said: “Her Majesty’s medical team is very encouraged by the progress made so far. They remain positive about the king’s continued recovery.

“Future engagements will be adapted as necessary to minimize any risk to Her Majesty’s continued recovery. The pace of King’s program will be carefully calibrated as his recovery continues, in close consultation with his medical team.
