Khabib Nurmagomedov silenced Conor McGregor at UFC 229.
One of the biggest fights in UFC history was uploaded to YouTube without cageside commentary, allowing fans to clearly hear what the fighters and their cornermen had to say on that fateful night in Las Vegas on Oct. 6, 2018.
Watch the video below.
Nurmagomedov dominated McGregor for most of their fight, using his signature wrestling technique to knockout the Irishman and even gaining the upper hand in the second round when he destabilized McGregor with a lightning-fast right hand. The end came when Nurmagomedov took McGregor from behind in the fourth round and forced him to submit to a neck crank.
In the newly released clip, Nurmagomedov can be heard taunting McGregor after enduring months of trash talk. We also get snippets of tactical advice from both fighters as well as Herb Dean doing his best to control the chaos.
At one point, as Nurmagomedov brutalized McGregor with a ground-and-pound in the second round, his cornerman and cousin Abubakar yelled, “Kill him!”
Nurmagomedov was so angry at the end of the fight that he yelled “I fucked you up, bitch!” in Russian, according to the UFC translation. Not seen in the video is Nurmagomedov coming out of the cage and attacking McGregor’s cornerman Dillon Danis shortly afterward, an action that sparked a wild brawl and led to suspensions for all parties involved.
As a bonus, the uploaded clip also includes uncommented replays of Alex Pereira’s epic knockout of Jiri Prochazka in their recent rematch at UFC 303, and Jack Della Maddalena’s vicious third-round knockout of Gilbert Burns at UFC 299.
